Have you ever experienced a stressful event and felt...
~ Feelings of intense—maybe overwhelming—anger
~ Defensive
~ Hypervigilant
~ Physically or emotionally aggressive
~ Super thin-skinned
~ Heightened senses and sensations
~ Hyperindependent and rarely or never asking for help
~ Withdrawn from friends or family—canceling plans, not returning messages
~ Hard time focusing
~ People pleasing, saying yes to things that you want to say no to
~ Very procrastinatey
~ Practiced really crappy self-care
~ Feeling very foggy or numb
~ Soooo exhausted and overwhelmed
To name a few...
You might have been in a fight, flight, freeze, or fawn response!
If you're unfamiliar with these terms, these are responses that humans (and other creatures, lol) have to stressful events.
And a stressful event can be anything:
A natural disaster, a devastating election result, a threat to your life or mental health, a fight with a family member, something happening at work or in the world...pretty much anything can cause a stress response in us!
It is soooo important for us to know about The Four Fs and how to take care of ourselves when we experience them.
Because when we're in the throes of our stress responses, we're very likely not thinking very clearly...
...and that can lead us to do some notsogreat things.
Things like...
Picking fights
Withdrawing and isolating
Having no boundaries
Turning to substances
Taking terrible care of ourselves (which only adds to our stress)
Misdirected anger
Endlessly doomscrolling and distracting ourselves
And soooo much more...that we later judge ourselves for doing...which stresses us out more!
That's why I created
"Giving all the Fs: Understanding Fight, Flight, Freeze & Fawn"!
This 2 hour workshop can help you start to understand what's going on when you go into the 4Fs...
and how to take care of yourself so your stress response can hopefully be shorter and less intense.
During the workshop, you’ll learn:
~ The fight/flight/freeze/fawn stress responses: what happens in our brains and bodies
~ How they might show up in our lives in the short term and long term
~ How to support yourself, rather than making things harder for yourself :)
~ About the concept of the Window of Tolerance and how to use it to take care of yourself
~ And more!
Logistics:
Date & Time: Monday, November 25th, 8pm ET/5pm PT
~ The workshop is 2 hours long (there will be breaks!)
~ It will take place on Zoom.
~ The material will be presented in English.
Once you register, you will receive the Zoom link and all the other information you need.
(Can't make the live training? You'll get the replay info and all the materials.)
